 EA Sports College Football 25 and the NIL

     On July 19, 2024, the long-awaited EA Sports College Football 25 released and with it came some major changes. The last college football video game released was in 2013 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. There hasn’t been another iteration since then because the athlete’s wanted compensation for their likeness being used in the game. But now, with the implementation of NIL contracts (name, image and likeness) college athletes can now get paid by companies who want to promote them. In the 2013 video game, none of the athletes were featured in the game instead EA sports used their jersey 

number and a similar last name. The NIL brought huge changes to college sports in general, it gives back power to the players putting in the hard work and time.
